Chief Executive Officer
Rodney was appointed to the Board of Directors in October 2015 and was appointed as Chief Executive Officer in December 2015. Rodney is a Professional Mining Engineer who brings more than 25 years of mining experience to the Board of Jaguar Mining and has held senior management positions overseeing or stationed at operations in Peru, Chile, Honduras, Mexico, USA, Canada and Australia. From 2013 to 2015, Mr. Lamond was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Crocodile Gold Corp before the July 2015 business combination of Crocodile Gold Corp. and Newmarket Gold Ltd. Prior to this, Rodney held the positions Group General Manager and General Manager with Nyrstar NV from 2009 to 2013 and was Vice President of Operations and General Manager of Gold Hawk Resources prior to the acquisition by Nyrstar NV in 2009.
Chief Financial Officer
Hashim joined Jaguar Mining in August 2014 as Vice President, Controller and was later appointed to the position of Chief Financial Officer in February 2016. Hashim has over 19 years of experience, with the past 10 years focused in the mining industry, and expertise in financial management, strategy, corporate turnaround, and capital markets. He obtained his CA designation with PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLP and later worked with Ernst & Young LLP in their mining advisory practice. Prior to Jaguar, Hashim worked with Barrick Gold for over 7 years, where he held progressively senior positions in finance functions in Canada, and with site finance teams in Chile. At Jaguar, he oversees financial and non-financial aspects of the business, including economic strategy and business planning, treasury and tax management, human resources, supply chain and systems. Hashim is also a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) USA and the Financial Executives International (FEI) Canada, where he is also actively involved as a volunteer.
Robert (Bob) Gill
Vice President - Operations
Bob was appointed as Vice President, Operations in August 2016. Bob has over 30 years of expertise in the design and operation of international and domestic, open pit and underground, base metal and gold mines. Prior to joining Jaguar, Bob was with AMEC Americas Limited Mining Division in Vancouver where he held the position of Principal Engineer and Study Manager, where he managed prefeasibility studies and PEA's, including being the project manager on the Galore Creek prefeasibility study. He has worked at various operations and development projects in North and South America and consulted to mines around the world. Bob holds a Bachelors of Applied Science in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of British Columbia and completed the International Executive Program in Mining Leadership from Queen's University.
Paul T. Whillans
Vice President – Technical Services
Paul was appointed as Vice President, Technical Services in July 2017 and has over 35 years of experience with more than 50 international underground mining projects including practical mining experience and exposure to a wide variety of mining methods. Prior to joining Jaguar, Paul worked at 14 operating mines and was Principal of Whillans Mine Studies Ltd. which focused on improving underground mine operations and performing mining studies. Previously Paul was General Manager of Operations for Minesa S.A in Colombia and the Senior Mine Engineer at Bulyanhulu Mine, Tanzania and at the Myra Falls Operation in British Columbia. Paul´s background is in physics and geology and this past year he gave lectures on improving underground mining studies in Santiago Chile, Rio de Janeiro, Vancouver, Sudbury, Toronto, Montreal and Berlin.
Jonathan Victor Hill
Exploration & Geology – Expert Advisor to the JMMC
Jon was appointed Advisor to the JMMC, in July 2017 and has over 30 years’ experience of global exploration, mining operational and project development experience including, Africa, Australia and the Americas. Jon spent most of his formative years as a geologist with AngloGoldAshanti, where he recently held the title of Exploration Manager, Colombia Greenfields. During his tenure at AngloGoldAshanti he was directly involved in the discovery of several world class projects within both Greenfields and Brownfield areas. His broad range of experience includes, exploration and development of projects including due diligence, corporate development, mine geology and management of interrelated departments including coordination and liaison with mine planning and reporting of mineral resources and reserves. Jon is a Director of Royal Road Minerals Limited, a TSX-V listed company. Jon holds a BSc (Hons) Economic Geology 1988 (University of Cape Town), and a BAppSc. Applied Geology 1985 (Queensland University of Technology). He has been a member of AUSIMM since 1986.
Joanne C. Jobin
Vice President, Investor Relations
Joanne joined the company in September 2014 and initially commenced as Investor Relations Officer. Joanne was appointed as Vice President, Investor Relations in October 2016. Joanne has over 25 years of Investor Relations and Corporate Communications experience. Joanne began her career in the investor relations industry in 1987 with Barrick Gold, and worked to develop its early investor relations and marketing programs. Since then Joanne has worked in the natural resources sector and managed the investor relations, corporate affairs and communications programs for a number of publicly traded companies, including J.P. Morgan & Co. (Canada), Canadian Tire Corporation, IAMGOLD Corporation, Noront Resources, Excellon Resources and Veris Gold. She co-founded The FIRM and founded IR.INC, international investor relations marketing companies focused on the natural resource sectors.
Technical Advisor to the Board
Jean-Marc joined the company in August 2014 and initially commenced as Director of Mine Geology. Jean-Marc was appointed as Vice President, Geology and Exploration in May, 2016. Jean-Marc is a Professional Geologic Engineer with over 29 years of experience in Mining Geology and Exploration. Jean-Marc has played major roles in the exploration, development and the production of precious metals deposits and mines all over North and South America (Canada, Mexico, Peru, Ecuador, Chile, Guyana, Surinam, French Guiana and Brazil). While serving Cambior Inc. and AngloGoldAshanti, he has strongly contributed to successfully bring several world-class gold deposits from the greenfield exploration stage to development. Jean-Marc received a Bachelor degree in Geologic Engineering from the Ouro Preto School of Mines and an MBA in Project Management from the Getulio Vargas Foundation. Jean-Marc is a Member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. He is fluent in French, Portuguese, English and Spanish.
